1 Living with anxiety

I am not going to beat around the bush about anxiety. As a condition is a bad thing, but there is techniques we can use to ease it or even get rid of it. As a temporary anxious state of mind will pass quickly as soon as we reach our goal, whatever that is. Passing the exam, getting the job we want, the birth of a child, etc. these are passing and temporary anxieties.

The condition however is a lasting anxiety. How to deal with that? I had found the easiest to deal with it is just ask myself.  Is it important, do I have to do it, do I have to be there in time, etc?  When I analyze the situation I discover none of them are important. So than why am I so anxious about things that don’t matter.

Only matters if we think it matters. Whatever that is, but as soon as there is a traffic jam, or we get into an accident, what so so important didn’t matter anymore, because we couldn’t anything about the current situation so we just forgot.

What I am trying to say, whatever is creating the condition of anxiety it’s not important as soon as we are radical in our thinking about it’s importance. We are important and not the things that we think is important. If you are due to a job interview which is important but you get into an accident. or traffic jam, for a while you are fuming and huffing and puffing but as soon as you realize you can’t do anything against it you calm down and say,  “ohh well, I can’t do nothing about it, I might as well calm down”, and there you have it. no more anxiety. You might panic about not getting the job but as soon as you realize you can’t do nothing about it you calm down.

An act of God, we say! The bible says, “God won’t close a door without opening another one”. Think of it. What was the reason you couldn’t get to your goal?

It’s not important anymore because you couldn’t get to your goal. All you have to say when you notice the anxiety come on “so what”. Powerful word, “so what”.

So what is going to happen if I don’t make it? What is going to happen? Nothing is going to happen. the only thing will happen is that you won’t be there or you won’t get it. But you haven’t had it before and your life was going on and will be going on after you won’t have it or you don’t get there andd life in general will go on for everyone else. The world don’t care and why should you.

So what? Is it important?

  1. Hrmm that’s odd, my comment got eaten. Anywho I wanted to say it’s good to know that somebody else also touched on this as I had difficulties searching out the similar information in other places. This was the very first place which helped me understand this. Appreciate it.
